“And persisting righteous deeds [in this life] have a more lasting recompense by your Lord and evoke better hope [for success in the hereafter]”. (Quran 18:46) وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا Friday Khutba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday March 29th, 2019 C.E. at Annoor Jami Mosque, the 22nd of Rajab 1440 Hijri.
“And the devout servants of the Merciful Lord walk humbly on earth, and when ignorant people address them, they say: “Peace!” ﴾63﴿ Such are the ones who spend the night [in their homes], bowing in prostration and standing up in prayers before their Lord. ﴾64﴿And they are those who pray: “Our Lord! Ward off our destiny from the chastisement of hellfire. Its penalty has a most binding permanence.” ﴾65﴿ That is certainly the worst abode for dwelling, or as a place of residence. ﴾66﴿ And they are those who when they spend [money], they are neither wasteful and extravagant nor are they meanly avarice in their spending, and their disbursements are well balanced. ﴾67﴿” (Quran 25) وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ…
“Here I submit my endeavors before Allah, for Allah always sees what His created servants are doing. “The Day when the earth is replaced by a different earth, and the skies as well. “And who is better in religious devotion than one who directs his whole being faithfully in submission to the Divine Sovereign Lord, and follows the conformity of Abraham in leaning to the truth with steadfastness? “True prayers that receive answers are directed to Him alone, and those they call upon deities other than Him, they cannot answer a thing [anyhow]. It is similar to someone who stretches out his hands to the water to reach his mouth to drink, but this way the hands never reach the mouth.
