Obligation vs. Volunteering

“And obey Allah and the Messenger so that you may be cherished by His Mercy”. Friday Khutba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday December 29th 2017 C.E. at Annoor Jami Mosque, the 10th of Rabi’u Thani 1439 Hijri.

Talking With One’s Lord

“It is not given that Allah should speak to a mortal [directly] except through inspiration, or from behind a veil [indirectly], or by sending him a messenger to convey by Allah’s permission whatever He wills, for He is certainly the Most Sublime, Exalted and All-Wise”. Friday Khutba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday December 8th 2017 C.E. at Annoor Jami Mosque, the 19th of Rabi’ul Awwal 1439 Hijri.

The Spirit of Zakat

“Such ones who fulfill their Covenant with their Lord and they do not violate the trust. They also maintain the bond [with their families] according to what Allah has decreed, they fear to displease their Lord and dread the outcome of a strict accountability [on the Day of Judgment], and they seek the pleasure of their Lord, hold to their ordained Salat prayers regularly, spend privately and openly from what We provided for them, and apply good measure to repel what is wrong. Such ones will reap the good reward of the final abode”. Friday Khutba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday June 9th 2017 C.E. at…

The Need of Reverence to Know One’s Lord

“Surely this revelation is the most ascertaining eye opener. Therefore, praise the Name of your Lord incessantly; for He is indeed the Most Magnificent”. (Quran 69:51-52) “Take the needed provisions with you, though piety is the best of provisions”. Friday Khutba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday February 24th 2017 C.E. at Annoor Mosque, the 27th of Jamadul Ulaa 1438 Hijri.

Awakening Faith During Trials

“[O believers!] You will be tried with attempts against your properties and persons, and you will hear from the people who were given the Book before you, and from the polytheists taunting and provocative words, but if you endure patience and hold to your piety, it would be a better show of resoluteness”. Friday Khutba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday February 17th 2017 C.E. at Annoor Mosque, the 20th of Jamadul Ulaa 1438 Hijri.

The Pious will surely be Gratified

“Say [to them]: “Each person acts according to standards he adopts for himself, and your Lord knows best who is better guided”. Friday Khutba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday February 10th 2017 C.E. at Annoor Mosque, the 13th of Jamadul Ulaa 1438 Hijri.

All Matters are Entirely Under His Control

“They say: “Do we have any say in this matter?” Say [to them]: “All matters are entirely under the control of the Divine Sovereign Lord Himself. ” (Quran 3:154) يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ الْأَمْرِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُ لِلَّـهِ “Friday Suhba by Shaykh Al-Akili on Friday November 25th, 2016 C.E. at Annoor Mosque, the 25th of Safar 1438 Hijri.

Lailat-ul Qadr Supplications

Special Supplications delivered at the conclusion of Salat prayers on the 27th of the Month of Ramadan 1437 H. / June 2016 C.E. at Annoor Mosque, Zawiya Fellowship. [Arabic Text Only] “Indeed We revealed the Quran during the Night of Destiny, and what explanation can tell you enough about the Night of Destiny! The Night of Destiny is certainly better than a thousand months [of devotion]. Heavenly beings along with the [Holy] Spirit come down together during it by permission of their Lord, carrying His Command. A [Night of] Peace it is, [and such extraordinary spiritual event will last] until dawn”. (Sura Al-Qadr 97:1-5)
