Holy-Ziyara-Feature

The Holy Quran cites the importance of relics in relation to the return of the Ark of Covenant that was brought back to the Israelites, carried by angels, and with the Ark came Sakinah, a most comforting peace and glad tidings from our Lord, besides some of the relics left by the family of Musa (Moses) and the family of Harun (Aaron), as a clear sign for those who have faith. (cf. Quran 2:248)

In the abovementioned verse 2:248, speaking of the mark (Ayah,) and blessings (Baraka) of the establishment of Talut’s kingdom, was the return of personal relics of the Prophet Musa and the Prophet Harun upon both of them be peace, “A sign from your Lord”. Wahab Bin Munbih narrated that the Sakinah is the presence of a special Soul (h) sent by our Lord and that speaks when explanations are needed. As to the “Relics left by the family of Musa and the family of Harun“, the Arabic word for relics used here is “Baqiyya” it refers to personal items left by Allah’s Prophets and preserved by their families, including the staff of Musa (as), the staff of Harun (as), fragments of the Tablets, personal garment of Allah’s Prophets Musa and Harun ubbp and some of the nutritious sweet food called Manna miraculously and unexpectedly provided to the Israelites in the wilderness. In fact, the blessed companions enjoyed the blessings of his physical presence, his clothing, his touch, drinking from his cup, or finger touching the side of a dish wherefrom he ate. Sometimes he allowed some to kiss his hand, or even touch his foot, mostly new comers who were not familiar with protocols did that, but in fact, he did not find fault in such actions since they were done out of love and respect.

The succeeding generations, known as tãbi’ïn also honored such privileges and pursued them as living traces of Allah’s Messenger uwbp. In fact, no one knows how to value these people better than Allah’s Messenger uwbp when he called the tãbi’ïn of the End of Times, “My beloveds, my beloveds. They come later, they believe in me and they will sacrifice any attachment they have just to see me…”
